All children and young adults under 18 should be able to live free from fear and harm, and have their rights and choices respected.

Some children and young adults are less able to protect themselves than others, and some have difficulty in making their wishes and feelings known.  This may make them more vulnerable to abuse.

Safeguarding children refers to the protection of individuals from abuse or neglect.  If you feel that you, or another child / young adult is at risk then you should consider making a safeguarding child referral.
