The aim is to empower ladies to recognise when they are being abused and controlled, and also help to look at their own behaviours, helping them to make sense of, and understand what has happened to them; allowing reflection, sharing experiences to take comfort that victims / survivors are not alone.
The course takes place throughout the year (excluding school holidays).
The Freedom Programme also describes in detail how children are affected by being exposed to this kind of absue, and more importantly how their lives are improved when the abuse is removed.
