The aim of this project is to recruit and train volunteer mentors from the local community to work with young people who are involved in, or at risk of anti-social behaviour or criminal activity.
Mentors offer advice and guidance to these young people to positively influence their lives and help them to take control and change their future. These young people can be suffering from isolation, loneliness, bullying, issues related to poverty, abuse and possible grooming scenarios alongside many more traumatising experiences.
By using a person centred approach, our mentors are able to work effectively with these young people and achieve encouraging results. These young people can display challenging behaviours but full training is provided and the mentor coordinator is available when support and advice is needed.
