Books On Prescription

The Books On Prescription scheme is a very effective way of helping people with common mild to moderate mental health problems.

The scheme also offers a children, young people and families booklist, a dementia booklist, and one for long term conditions.

Your doctor, or health and social care professional may prescribe a book they want you to read.  You will be given a prescription slip to take to your local library from where you can borrow the book.  If already out on loan, the book can be reserved free of charge.

if you're not already a library member, it's quick, easy and free to join either in person or online.  The books can also be borrowed without a prescription.
